Kristen is a professional bronze wildlife sculptor, educator and mentor.
She channels her deep love for nature into art that captivates and inspires. Her journey, rooted in Tulsa's vibrant art scene, began amidst the iconic life-sized animal sculptures that lined Riverside Drive, igniting her lifelong passion for wildlife and art.
In 2016, Kristen made a life-changing decision to follow her passion, moving across the country to apprentice with her favorite artist and mentor, renowned sculptor Jocelyn Russell. This pivotal experience allowed her to contribute to high-profile projects such as life-sized elephants and lions for the New Orleans Audubon Zoo, and a monumental tribute to the legendary racehorse Secretariat. Collaborating with Jocelyn’s husband Michael Dubail, an expert welder and metal chaser, she breathes extraordinary craftsmanship and detail into each of her creations.
Kristen’s mastery in bronze work has garnered national acclaim, with her works—like the celebrated working canines in Kansas and Wisconsin—resonating across the country. As a passionate art educator, Kristen founded an empowering mentorship program, nurturing artists and reinforcing the values of artistry and excellence.
Her dedication extends to educational collaborations with esteemed institutions like the Philbrook Museum and the San Juan Island Museum of Art. With over a decade of teaching experience, Kristen inspires diverse groups through nationwide workshops and seminars, sharing her art-making expertise and her enthusiasm for creative education.
As a board member of Animals in War and Peace and the Grizzly 399 Monument Project Committee, Kristen is a leader, infusing her work with artistic innovation. From her San Juan Island studio, she remains a vital voice in the interplay between art, community, and nature. Through remarkable sculptures and educational outreach, Kristen builds vital connections between people and wildlife, crafting a narrative that is both a beacon of artistic excellence and a testament to the power of mentorship and empowerment.
